May 15, 2012 - Golf places 2nd in State Championship

Congratulations to Coach Doug Willett and the Benedictine Golf team for finishing the season as the Runner-Up in the State Class AAAAA Tournament. The Cadets were only one shot out of first place, behind Milton High School of metro Atlanta.

April 23, 2012 - Lacrosse wins SCILL State Championship

The Cadets capped off a near-perfect season by capturing the SCILL State Championship with an 18-3 victory over Charleston Lacrosse Club this past Saturday!

April 20, 2012 - Lacrosse State Championship game time moved to 12:00 noon

The SCILL State Championship game between the Cadets and Charleston, has been moved up one hour to 12:00 noon this Saturday at BC. Admission is $5. LET'S GO BC!

April 19, 2012 - Students will have a HALF DAY THIS FRIDAY

There has been a change to the school calendar. This Friday, April 20th, will be a HALF DAY for students, with dismissal at 11:48 AM. Mass will not be celebrated that morning. Students will receive a bag lunch at dismissal.

April 16, 2012 - Lacrosse to host SCILL State Championship on April 21st

The Benedictine Lacrosse team defeated Beaufort 20-0 in the SCILL State Playoffs, which earned them the right to host the State Championship game this Saturday, April 21st, at 1:00 p.m. at BC!

April 3, 2012 - Golf captures second consecutive City Championship

The BC Golf Team won its second consecutive City Championship on April 2nd, posting a score of 302! The Cadets were led by sophomore Ryan Vogel, who shot a 72 and tied for 2nd in the low medalist standings.

April 3, 2012 - Lacrosse sets sights on State Championship

On April 2nd, BC defeated Savannah Lacrosse 14-7 to capture the SCILL regular season title with a perfect 9-0 record. Overall the team is 15-1 with the only loss an overtime thriller to Kell High School of Atlanta. The Cadets are ranked #2 for all schools playing in South Carolina leagues and are ranked #2 in the nation in scoring!

BC is seeded #1 for the SCILL playoffs with the first playoff game on April 14th at BC at 11am vs. Beaufort. If the Cadets win, they will host the SCILL State Championship game at BC on April 21^st at 1pm.

April 3, 2012 - Doug Willett named Head Basketball Coach

We are pleased to inform you that Doug Williett has agreed to serve as our head basketball coach. Doug will continue to serve as a physical education instructor as well as head golf coach.

Doug had previously been interim basketball coach after having served as assistant basketball coach. As interim coach, during the latter portion of the 2011-2012 season he led our Cadets to an upset win over Camden County in the Region 3AAAAA Tournament.

Doug has a B.S. degree in Health and Physical Education with a Teacher Certification K-12 from Armstrong Atlantic State University (AASU). He has been at BC since 2008 and served as head swimming coach from 2008-2009. During that period BC was GHSA Class AA State Runner-Up. Since 2009 Doug has served as BC’s golf coach and has coached our Cadets to win two consecutive AA Region Championships, a GHSA State Runner-up finish in Class AA and a Top-10 finish in Class AAAAA, as well as two Savannah City Championships.

Prior to joining BC, Doug was assistant basketball coach at Truckee High School in Truckee, CA and at Savannah’s Windsor Forest High School. His other coaching experience includes instructor/coach at the summer camps for the University of Kentucky’s Tubby Smith Basketball Camp and University of Florida’s Billy Donovan Basketball Camp; student assistant/manager for AASU’s men’s basketball team; and head golf professional at Eagle Lake Golf Course in Farmington, Missouri.
