Media Center - Benedictine Military School - Savannah, GA

Media Center

Located in the heart of Alumni Hall, the Benedictine Military School media center is a vital resource for BC students and faculty. The BC Media Center is home to an excellent collection of almost 15,000 books, numerous current periodicals including back issues, and nearly 800 DVD’s and VHS tapes. In addition, students and faculty have access to an online public access catalog. Along with the traditional books and periodicals, the Media Center houses nine computer workstations which are available for students to conduct internet research. The Media Center is open from 7:30AM – 4:00PM every day and students are encouraged to use the facility before and after school or at their lunchtime.

Accessing the BC Media Center from the Internet:
http:// bc.follettdestiny.com
Destiny is the media center website which will enable students, faculty and staff members to access the holdings of the media center on or off-campus
To enter the Destiny website, just click on the school link in blue letters in between the two green bars on the welcome page. Then click the login button in the upper right. Type in the user name and password you gave to Br. Tim and click the login button with the green checkmark next to it. If you have forgotten your user name and password, see Br. Tim. Students will not be able to email each other within Destiny since student email addresses are not in our email server. Also, students will not be able to publish lists within the website. Overdue notices will be emailed to parents. Look for notices sent from bcsav.net.

There are easy-to-understand instructions on how to perform various functions in the “Help” and “How do I….” sections located throughout the website. Also, Br. Tim will be giving formal instruction to the students. Any time anyone has a question about the use of the website, they may contact Br. Tim.
